I've been watching a marathon of anime today, with episodes from Excel Saga, Samurai Champloo, Lucky Star, Azumanga Daioh, and Black Lagoon. I've dismissed anime for a long time, but in recent months I've come to realise it's not all stupid 'mon/shonen* crap. Now I wanna "catch-up" on the shows I've been missing out on.
*-I know it has a broader meaning than this, but by "shonen" I mean those shows where someone some teenager goes out to be the best ninja/fighter/cards player in the world. I have no interest in watching them.

Its what you call a paradoy anime
Every episode is basicly a refence to diffrent animes
The Fist of the north star one is one of my faves
It has a follow on thats even sillyer Puni puni pomei
Gota love that Jojos bizzare addventure bit
Basicly Excel and Puni are not recomended unless you have seem most of the famous animes
Or if you go on /a/ a lot

Basically, imagine a show with the sheer silliness of Azumanga Daioh, the utter weirdness and incomprehensibility of Evangelion, and the psycho energy of Kodomo no Omocha. That would be Excel Saga. It is, indeed, a parody show, and the more you're into anime, the more you'll get out of it. It's definitely a must-see if you haven't!
Anybody else get that horrifying yipping ending song stuck in their heads at random intervals? I don't even think I've seen the show for years and yet occasionally I find myself going "Aow aowwwww, aow aow aow~" for absolutely no reason.
It just want to be Nabeshin from it http://youtube.com/watch?v=2mwLzOa01Ts
Ok that was the sequalish Puni puni pomei but its the kinda madness that is part of it
Finished Moyashimon
Quite good
Outa five
Its more of a plot based anime
