Same game as before, Armored Core: for Answer for my PS3. I notice a friend is online playing so I invite him for a few matches. He joins and we start. I'm using my favorite design, a mech called Necros. A plasma rifle and Energy Sword on my arms with a Gatling Cannon and Spread Missles on my back. Plus I'm speedy with above average defense and such good energy usage I have practically infinite flight. Seems overpowered right? Well its actually the average build of its type in the AC community. Now my opponent is using a dual machine-gun and missle user with excellent lock-on and flight capabilities so he can not only fly forever, but hit me from half the battle field away. Fight starts and I rush in with my overboost, letting me avoid most of his initial missle barrage too. As soon as I'm close I whip out my Gatling Cannon and Plasma rifle and unload clip after clip into him. But he had something I wasn't expecting: Flash Rockets. These things fly out a few feet and explode with a super bright light that blinds the enemy. I just took one in the face. I can't see if I'm standing or if I'm on my head. By the time it cleared I instantly start boosting, he just fired off a new missle barrage. I barely dodge and turn to find him on the other side of the field, firing away. So I now knew his strategy: stay far away and fire off missles and if the enemy gets close he'll blind 'em and run off again. Surprisingly this strategy has a fatal flaw that's easy to exploit if you know how. I rush in again but right before he fires his flash rockets, I spun behind him. Now the flaw is the rockets go straight, and have a slow reload time. Get behind as he fires and you not only dodge the flash but can hit him as he tries to run. I instantly whip out my sword and cut him in half before he could run. I repeat until he dies cause he doesn't know how to change his strategy. Next battle, I'm taking my same guy. He takes in a lightweight blader. A blader is someone that uses two swords exclusivly. Bladers are extremely fast, powerful and nimble but powerless at a distance. Match starts and I stay back, using missles and my Gatling Cannon. He does the one trick almost exclusively linked to online bladers: he teleports. The trick works by moving so fast that the game can't keep up and you'll vanish, it works best on average to bad connections. He came charging and I fire a barrage at his face. But right before the attack hits he vanishes and appears behind me with a chunk of my health gone. He wasn't just moving super-fast, he hit me on the way. Now the sword he's using is called Moonlight, this is always the best sword in any Armored Core game. I took off a fourth of my health in one hit. I instantly run before spinning around to shoot more attacks. He starts teleporting so only a couple bullets touch him and suddenly my health is dropped again. Crap, half gone and I've barely made a dent. I couldn't believe he was forcing me do use my back up plan so early. I detach all my weapons except my sword. Detaching makes you faster but in return that weapon is gone for the rest of the match. With only one blade my guy Necros is now fast enough to do my own teleporting. There are only two ways to beat a teleporter: 1) Have extreme accuracy and timing, I have accuracy but I couldn't time him correctly 2)Teleport better then the teleporter, that's what I planned to try. We rush at each other and he teleports. I quickly teleport left and then right back to not only dodge but instantly counter with my own slash. A bladers weak points are distance and low defense. Distance is fixed by speed, defense is uncurable. Half his health vanished in my one attack. Now he knows I'm more skilled then him. I can kill him in one more hit but before I can swing again he double swings, using both swords in one swing. I'm pushed back, having only about 2% of my HP left so it's down to who lands the next swing. We teleport, dodge, teleport, attack, dodge, teleport, dodge, repeat this for a couple minutes. Pretty soon time would run out before the match is over. Since he has more HP, he would win. He knows this which is why it was obvious he was taking his time in attempting to kill me. I had to think of something quick because he was faster then me and I only had one shot or I'd die. Finally I got it. I charge in and teleport away as he swings. Now instead of teleporting back for him to run, as expected, I teleported to where I hoped he'd be. He tended to teleport to his right more then his left when he dodged. I made a gamble and warped to his right. I was right, he came to his right, just intime for me to cut him down. Match over, 5 seconds left, I win. That had to be one of the toughest matches I ever won.
