I think when you press down and duck, you can use your sheild (not the bubble sheild, the shield link has).
And that shield can stop most projectiles from hitting you.
NOTE: This worked in melee, i dont know if it works in brawl.
You can avoid his arrow spamming completely by just timing your dodge right. If you're using gamecube controller, press R and DOWN at the same time to dodge. If you time it right, Pit's arrows (or any projectile for that matter) wont hit you.

Edit oh how to stop arrows, use ariels when you are close but be careful of his up ariel. Use a lot of dodges and shield and always get close. Best thing to kill Pit is to get him off the stage and smack him while he is doing his recovery.
