well i was teh rapage w/ roy, and was pissed to learn he was not gonna be in ssbb, but like a week before it was released i started using marth and fell in love w/ him (no homo), so i don't mind roy being excluded.
Marth may look feminine, but he still kicks a**. I prefer Marth over Roy due to the fact Marth had combos in melee that could get you from 0% to getting you killed. Marth is way better than Roy. One word says it all "Tipper".
Both characters actually had the word "tipper" applied to them. In Marth, the tip of the sword did more damage than the middle. In Roy, the tip did less.
I like Roy BECAUSE HE HAS AN EXPLODING SWORD, HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE THAT??? But Marth is better.

oh hell yeah, gold roy was da shit. red fire roy for #2. when i use marth, i prefer to use the red.
the problem i had w/ marth but the reason alot of ppl like him is that he is wayy faster than roy. his dolfin slash was a quick upward dash that couldn't really get you back to the ledge unless you were either lucky or had panther-like reflexes. roys up+b is the coolest because it set ppl on fire, and was controllable.

I agree with Marth101. Marth is a load better than Roy due to the tipper. It brings down people fast and gives you a fair amount of distance.
However, Roy suited my play style better. Even though I main Marth now, Roy's power point was in his hilt. His attacks were a little bit slower, but it also provided that you stay on their ass 24/7, which I thought was awesome. Also the exploding sword of doom was hilarious to catch people in though I'll admit it, Ike's eruption tops that (180 degrees tops Roys 90 degrees in his slash).
All in all though, I think Roy should have been in. I mean look at Fox and Falco. Practically the same moves but they adjusted them to have their own personality. Same goes for C. Falcon and Ganon. Roy shouldah been in.
Oh and I was a Crimson Roy player. Gold was pretty awesome though.
If Roy was put in, they'd have to change him completely because of the Ike similarities--they're both slow, they're both heavy hitters, and they've both got the fiery sword of doom. Marth only needed some cosmetic attack changes to fit in his own niche.
