thats assuming that their shooting you from close enough that you can hit them after your dodge before they get another shot out. thats a very situational strategy

Ah. That's true.
I always run at my opponents and then just jump.
It's been a tried-and-true technique since melee.
You can have your wave dashing and whatnot.
I've got an X/Y button.
I'd suggest hitting her while she's aiming at you, but then again, she's got pretty much the 3rd fastest projectile (possibly 2nd or 1st) in the game.
