I'll be keeping track of a list of members here who main Snake so you guys can talk to each other and if you want i'll post your friends codes aswell. just post or PM and i'll put you on the list. I will also over the next couple days be making a comprehensive guide to maining him. I'll go through all his attacks, their uses, hit boxes, damage, and priority. Also the basic strategy to maining snake. I hope to be done by wednesday night. for now though post and i'll put you on the list of mainers. and once a list is established i can set up a ranking system for you guys also if you want.

First thing first is the basic strategy of maining snake. Snake is a HIGHLY projectile character so you'll find yourself doing a lot of camping. But when i say camp, i dont mean that you hide for the whole game, that is both boring and annoying. there is a strategy i like to call 'camping to combo'. you camp, keep your distance, using triple hits and jab combos to ward off over aggressive foes, then once you can get a hit that throws your opponent in the air you strike. Snake has a VERY powerful arsinal of arial attacks and his ability to U special into moves helps your combo ability as well. and for a cool looking pride kill. drop a mine on your opponent's face and send them skyward.

movesets:

Dash attack - 11%
this attack is very much like samus' in that if your opponent is high in damage this attack can star KO.

triple hit - 4-3-6
if you hold A down he will do the initial hit over and over again until it hits and will then proceed into the triple hit. wicked move. not as good as Ike's but it can still KO at high % and is a great clearing move.

Up tilt- 13%
his leg goes super high so this move is great for those overly aggressive players who like to try and fall directly on you and d air you after you hit them... there are many people like this.

d tilt- 10%
perfect knock back for combo's into aerials.

f tilt - two hits. both dealing 10%
super fast move with good knock back for getting space between you and the other guy. terrible range though so only use it as a clear out

U smash- Snake hits as he's putting the mortar (thanks HyPeRsHoCk for the clarification) thing on the ground, this part does 4% and knocks them straight up so you can hit with the rocket for an additional 10%

d smash- 18-20%
...i've never understood why D smash lays a mine...still a good move though

F smash- 22%
super strong. very difficult to connect.

U air- 14%
super easy combo U throw into U air.

D air - 4 hits, each dealing 4-6%
great move. can keep grounded opponent in the hits for all four.

B air - 10%
great KO move. comes out really fast. lots of landing lag though

N air - two hits. 6, 5%
good move, snake seems to have SUPER long legs so he out ranges the likes of metaknight and toon link.

B button moves

U special: you can do attacks out of this so chase skyward opponents to get star KOs.

D special - 17%
you can lay the mine in the air, or ON your opponent. these are the most useful uses for 1v1s

N special - 10%
try to hold the grenade for a while before you throw it to avoid it being thrown back at you

F special - 14%
press sheild button to cancel the attack and bomb will drop straight down from wherever it is. great move.

The one thing I hate about him is that soooo many people just spam his attacks (projectiles) and they don't realize his potential as a strong fighter (with punches and kicks).

What if snake is my #5 Sub, does that count?

i'm with you on that one. he can KO with his triple hit lol its insane. people like to spam his missles but they dont even really know how to use them properly... meh... we all start somewhere i guess

Also i claim offical rights to RED Snake lol if you want to challenge me its on!!!

And when peopel say you spam snake moves too much then its like uhhh what i mean come on i hate when people say that when i paly snake i should not use grenades becuase thats all i do, well thats what snake does!!!! personlly i got lots of my damage from grenades and its just how he works!!!

Also Foward B is just like blah do NOT use it if the other person is just on the ground you will get owned badly, Use foward b to edgeguard and push them back then just hug the cliff,

When you start the game too always put a c4 near the edge becuase it is ver useful when being edge guarded very!!!

If you also like to add up damage and keep them away try learning the dash attack into up smash it helps guard your back and sometimes it combos

Use mines very selectively and usualy plant them while edgeguarding this will make them land where you want them too ver usefull!!, Also after a kill plant a mine and run to the other side of the stage, the guy will usualy use is invisibility frames to blow up the mine but as he does that plant one on the opposite side!

Another handy thing to know his how do C4 explosive jump its very useful, Here if you dont havea c4 on the ground you can do down b down b to blow yourself up and re gain your up b to recover!! But you might be thinking you are only out that far becuase you have tons of damage and will get owned if you blow your self up, well yes that is true but if your good you can blow your self up with teh C4 then DI yourself towards the stage, usualy you'll hit the stage and go staight down to your death but if your good just wall tech as you hit it!!!

With snakes grenades you might also wanna know how to throw it like a normal item so you dont have to hold b to jump and stuff, Here click b then hit shielf the grenage will drop then press A and wala your holding it!!!! It will explode in 4 seconds or so so jump around and throw it at the rigt time!!! this way you can also throw it up in the air (Great for Combo) and down (great for Creating room to land)
