I agree on some level on melee some chars like yoshi, were just plain but brawl IMO is very balanced and not even yoshi is broken. But it is interesting to make a tier list. and every tourney was won by meta/snake, so yeah.
Im on the wii ao excuse my grammer and spellonf pleese (lol)
And yet on my end I've got tourneys won by Diddy Kong, R.O.B., Yoshi, Pit and Game & Watch.
Is it possible the ultra competitive simply went to Snake and Meta as soon as they heard those guy might be top tier? Thus increasing how many tournaments are won by them?

Yeah, thats pretty much how it normally is at first. They WILL be top tier, but who knows where they will be in it.
yeah man, cf IMO is the worst character in the game which saddens me. and is it me or do all of his air priorities suck? i mean i wanted to dair ganon whwn i am above him and he does an uair and he gets the hit. serousely, if they were going to nerf cf this much, they shouldnt have put him in the game.
haha actually priority in the air works the same as in melee... here i'll explain it to you.
the priority your thinking of is when two attacks come together and hit the other person at the same time... in technical terms:
the hitboxes of each character connect with the opponent's hurtboxes at the same time
if this happens ON THE GROUND the move with the higher priority wins out.
in the air the above priority is null and void. it does not exist. the only priority in the air is with hit boxes.
simply meaning that if you hit the other guy first you'll win. if at the same time you'll clank or trade hits.
But if a character has a disjointed hit box... caused from wielding a sword... or box (lol at G&W) then the likely hood of that character winning out in priority is GREATLY improved as your hit box extends past your hurt box.
to explain this:
marth and CF attack each other in the air. Both with F airs. Marth's sword connects with CF's knee which means that the hitboxes connect. so Marth's sword is hitting CF's hurtbox aswell since his knee is obviously part of his body. BUT CF's knee doesn't reach Marth's body and the sword is unflinching and invincible so Marth wins whereas if Marth were a Sheik they would trade hits.
so even though both moves connect at the same time Marth wins because of his priority advantage.
so now that that's out of the way i can explain why CF's aerials are so bad in brawl.
CF has always had fairly low priority since his moves are short for the most part and he has no weapon so even in melee his priority wasn't all that.
In brawl his aerials are virtually the same in that their hit boxes are unchanged... power is no doubt a problem but his ability to connect the attacks is unchanged.
the trouble is that the GAME itself has changed. in melee you could Short Hop into an aerial and if you K canceled you were virtually unpunishable with CF's speed and the lack of lag with his moves.
but in brawl
-Short hops are higher so you must delay your move input (leaving more time for you to be interupted)
-L cancels are gone (so your knee's and b airs are now somewhat laggy)
-and shields have been buffed.. yes thats right... this is possible. in melee a sweet spotted knee, d air, or b air would have enough shield stun to cover your lag, meaning you could still continue your combo even if your initial attack was blocked. but in brawl there is little to no sheild stun for ANY move so sheild grabbing is INCREDIBLY easy which hurts CF a lot since his game is all offensive, shield pressure, and 90% aerial.
this is why you'll find yourself getting owned with his aerials. its not the captain's fault. he's an offensive character trapped in a campy game.
anyways thanks for reading haha thats my two cents of knowledge for today

double post i know but i needed to break up my two thoughts.
no man. the ultra competitive are the ones who originally suggest that those two are top tier because they themselves did the testing. WE are the ones who go to those characters for those reasons. they make the reasons, we act upon them

SUCKS!!!!!!
melee captain was better spiff-ssbb is right about the priority thing but theres more the puch and kick have been nerfed the only thing about him that got stronger was the up-b its easier to hit with and it sends the enemy farther then it did in melee

It's pretty easy to gain airbourne falcon punches, though.
uh no i mean u can dodge, jump away. he yells out the move for gods sake. that should be a pretty good clue as to get away.
although its fun to play as falcon. i am as good as a lvl 7 cpu falcon. but i will get better.
i agree falcon is a low tier. he no more the majestic killing machine that he used to be.

I have a video of me facing a level 9 falcon as falcon. I ate his face. Knee, midair jump, falcon punch while falling, recover. Super r ape.
yeah only against a cpu. against a human, little chance.
they should have had a thing where falcon punch would be weaker bt faster or u could store it.
"falcoooon!!!!!!!" (stores it), (goes to a charcater), "pawnnnnnnnncccccchhh"

And actually I land things like that regurarly. It's really not hard to ledge guard with falcon punches. I even intercept fox and falco's side B with them.
haha thanks man. I've always been interested in the unique, less used characters for some reason. I tried really hard but he's extremely difficult to main in Brawl. Low priority, no approaches. But he is very heavy and 2nd fastest runner which I am inclined to prefer to slower characters. I do what I can because the feeling of landing a knee or falcon punch is so indescribable! hahaha
anyways hes def low tier like you all say. I'm trying to find other characters to use, so far I'm attracted to Fox/Ness/Snake/Jiggly
From what I've seen, I will suggest that the top tiers Metaknight
Snake
Marth
Wolf?
with high regards to Ike, Olimar, Kirby, ToonLink, Falco?? Lucas ?? Game n Watch
And then you got the characters like Zelda/Pika/Pit who make me if not used correctly
and then anyone I use = bottom tier
but
Falcon is forever in my heart! Long live the FALCON
