they CAN be good... but they require user skill that other characters don't... thats the handicap they have... not that their unusably bad. just that they are harder to get good with...

well then "worst character" is the wrong title based upon what you are saying.....
and your right.... some chars require more skill and time than others.... like jiggly and DK for example as opposed to pit and ike.....

well it was just my opinion on what the thread SHOULD be about... i didn't start the thread so i have no clue what he was going for... but my opinion is as unbiased as i can be.
IMO the game is balanced enough (at the moment) so that you CAN be good with anyone... it just depends on how much effort you wanna put into it... it took me SO long to get decent with my yoshi lol but toon link came almost like second nature
and DK is actually growing on me... if he only had a recovery lol he should at least have super armor or something

^ his game is difficult to master though so as not to get gay killed all the time lol he's easy to gimp. personally i think he's harder to use him than people think. noobs own up noobs all the time but face someone good in a lagless match and you'll see his flaws nice and quick

Statement: I agree with you on the point that all characters are good, but not on the skill part.
Theory: I actually beleive it takes the same amount of skill for every character; it is just based on your own fighting style that cripples you until you master theirs.

cool theory... but no i'm sorry i must say you are wrong. Personally i like characters with quick moves... they don't have to be quick moving... but i like combo characters. quick KO's are few and far between for me. so i main yoshi, G&W, Sheik, Toon Link and i WANTED to main CF... but i'm sorry i'm just not good enough at smash to make him a competitive character. Its not playing style. he's just not as useful and versatile. I can play other playing styles, ganon, jiggly, DK, and mario are some of my secondaries. but some characters just aren't as good. sorry man. there'll always be a tier list whether you like to think so or not

Speculation: Hmmm...interesting. Your point of view and facts are very well thought out.
Statement: While i do agree with you, i think you may have misunderstood me. I was stating that not only does each character have their own fighting style, you, as a human being, have your own as well. Because of this, player style's and character style's will match themselves up accordingly.
Example: Some characters you should use to rush in and rack up damage, such as Sonic. Others, you will want to wait for the oppurtunity to strike, such as Ganondorf. Im not sure i can completely get my point across here...let me try this. If you are using Bowser, you do not doggedly pursue your opponent b/c he is to easy to counter and his moves are not made that way. Sonic's are. Each characters move set corresponds with their personal fighting style. Please tell me if i am being to vague.

oh no no i understand you completely. and i agree. if you have a play style that is inflexible there will be certain characters that you will never be good with. but even so i believe that if you took someone who could play a variety of different play styles there would still be some characters that would be harder to master for him. now if it was just him i'd agree that yes its just his personal preference. but when more and more very talented people come away from the game having trouble with the same few characters i'm lead to believe that this is because those characters are handicapped in some way
