#1: If given a chance, always charge up your lazer.
#2: When you're not charging up your lazer or dodging, you should be firing homing/super missles depending on the situation.
#3: Your up smash sucks. Unless you can hit them with the last frame, it won't do any knockback. Use your up tilt instead.
#4: Your main killing attacks are: F-Smash, D-Smash, D-Tilt(one of the most effective), Bair, Dair (Meteor smash.. always satisfying), and at higher %'s, your lazar.
#5: A good combo against any opponent (player or computer), is when at range, spam missles to get them dodging. When you've judged their dodging pattern, mess up their tempo with a fully charged lazar. 99% of the time, they'll get hit for a nasty 35% ranged shot.
#6: Usually you'll be a stationary target, as you're firing missles, charging up your lazar and whatnot. Learn to stilldodge, as your roll dodge is a little slow (but still decent). Your best clearing out move is your F-Smash, which will give you some spacing to fire more missles.
#7: Instead of getting some space (maybe you're at a lower %), use a D-Smash. They will be knocked upward, which can easily be comboed into a Bair for good damage and knockback. Use your high aerial movement to jump over them and give them a Dair.
#8: Don't forget to use homing missles when recovering if you can spare the vertical height! I always like to shoot some missles at edge guarders while making my way back with bomb-jumps, going under the ledge, using my second jump, then using my tether recovery. Works well against edge defenders.
#9: If you're falling down toward a character that can juggle well or is in a good spot to charge up a power U-Smash, use your power bombs to set off their timing. It stalls you in midair for a second, and if you do another one right after, you can hit yourself with the first bomb which will send you a decent distance in the opposite direction of the explosion. (also known as bomb jumping).
#10: Use your F-Tilt. It has the best range out of any melee attack you have, and it has decent damage and knockback. Rely on this to interrupt attacks and approaches.
#11: Your aerial game is pretty good. U-Air combos into all other aerials, and so does F-air. You've got a sex kick, too (N-air). Your finishing aerials are your D-Air(meteor smash) and your B-air(high horizontal knockback).
#12: If it's a one on one and you suck with zero suit samus, and a smash ball appeared, if you get the smash ball, don't use it unless the opponent is on his/her last life. Just hold on to it for as long as you can and Brawl more defensively (as the opponent will try to knock it out of you as fast as possible). If they manage to knock it out of you, use Smashball guarding techniques to rack up their damage and kill them. (Smashball guarding is the same as ledge guarding... just without the ledge. Naturally a player will want to jump straight for the smash ball and ignore everything else... punish this with a missle to the face.)
And that's it because my wrist is tired. Any questions, feel free to PM me.
ZEROLAZAR great summary. I was expecting someone to go all out and insult he in every possbile way. It show's that you have class my man. alkaowari hope your an awesome fighter after all that ZERO has written out for you.
using the grapple in air has surprising knockback as well and can be used well during edge recovery to knock back your opponent. Dtilt is also a great move to use easily when in a pinch, try to practice timing air missiles and air blasts to keep opponents off stage, and a good air combo is to try and use Uair twice then either finish with a kick or screw attack
Spamming the homers and firing a big laser is the best tip ever. And use the running attack shoulder charge. It almost has the same power as a smash.

when i get internet I'll post my friend code so quit asking me for it!
ZERO did a great job summarizing her strengths, but I disagree with the up smash. Although it sucks at killing, it is useful to incorporate into combos, and it racks up damage and sends them up just enough to follow with U-air or to retreat in order to charge.
Also, the power bombs are great for retreating too. It can help to drop a bomb while moving back, then charging. Whoever tries to come attack you up front will be stopped by the bomb.
The homing missile is also great to approach enemies by doing a short jump followed by a homing, which works about as good as Mario's fireballs.
Shadow*91: I'm pretty much in the same place, so I've been practicing my Samus so that I don't have to fear in matches with items. Takes time, ZSS is so much easier to use.
It's been a long time since I wrote that post. I've made more discoveries with Samus. I'll edit this post in a few moments to add some more stuff.
Alright here we go. Just random things to help.
1) Samus' morph ball bomb is actually very useful. Since her side dodge is pretty slow, use this to get away, as the bomb has long duration and good stun time, and sets up nearly every one of your moves. It's great for combos, and comboes well with your omega lazar.
2) Short hopping and using a homing missle when the enemy is at medium ish range is a good method of approach. It's not quite as good as mario's fireball, but it still works.
3) Your fair always works with your short hop, no matter what size the enemy is. Use the midair movement to guide the blasts into the enemy.
4) When you kill an enemy and they are trying to get in some quick hits while they're invulnerable from spawning, do a morph ball bomb off the stage and use your tether recovery (your grab). Most of the time, they'll miss their attack and the bomb will stun them, but at the very least you avoided their invulnerability time.
5) When caught in a trapping neutral A combo, if it's one that pushes you out automatically (Meta knights...), hold down and keep hitting A. You'll stop right out of their reach, and be able to hit them with your lethal down tilt.
4) Don't use the omega lazar as a means of killing (although it can be effective in that regard,), use it as a means of racking up damage. It's a mean 35% ~ projectile. Good times to use it are:
A) When the opponent is right about to land. The opponent's midair dodge will be cancelled, and they won't be able to do anything due to mandatory landing lag (even without doing an attack) and get hit, if you time it perfectly.
B) After you do a morph ball bomb. Many opponent's fall for it, and get stunned for a good enough time to get punished.
C) To finish a combo that sent the enemy horizontal. Hard to pull off (because of midair dodges), unless you trick them into initiating an attack.
D) Short hopping to a side and using it right after an up tilt at a low percentage works well.
5) I'm not sure what else to tell you. It's very easy to meteor smash with Samus. Uh.. all your moves basically string together. Get creative and make your own combos! I know there are times when I go omega and just start comboing the opponent to death while not even getting hit. Try it out!
I just started playing with samus and i must say im loving her style!, i love samus' meteor smash
nice info btw

I always use ZSS but whenever I am forced to grab the smash ball I am screwed as I have no idea how to use samus (the taunt transformation is too lengthy even when the enemy is far away).
