Mewtwo vs Lucario thread

since i've seen a lot of buzz about this...
Here is the official thread where you can complain,fight,talk,etc. about which one is better and deseves more recognition.

Lucario. His wall grab is so useful, if you have like 300% just hang on to a wall and watch the other players fight for a while.

Obviously Lucario is a better fighter, but I'd still pick a shitty Mewtwo character over Lucario anyday. Mewtwo is just so badass.

Mewtwo was still my favourite character though. All he needed was a few tweaks here and there...

I should make a thread about what they should have improved with Mewtwo to make him a more viable fighter.

I like them both equally, but Mewtwo is definately more deserving of a spot in Brawl. I mean, he was one of the most famous Pokemon in the Original Generation, and that's saying something!

Totally agree w/ u. Mewtwo deserves much more than he is given. Of course, Charizard is also up there as a most famous Pokemon...

Mewtwo was my favourite Melee character, as well as my favourite Pokemon. Come on, who didn't like that first Pokemon movie? Original generation > all (Second generation was cool too.. but not anywhere near as cool. Anything past these two generations is just retarded.)

These changes should have been done to Mewtwo to make him a better character, and then stick his beautiful ass in brawl:

Slightly heavier. I mean, come on, he's lighter than Jigglypuff.

Psychic attacks(purple fire) attacks MUCH stronger.

Shadow ball travels faster (Still can go in the awesome weird path)

Forward throw shadow balls stronger (It looks cool, but the move sucks).

Roll dodge travels a smaller distance. (Still quickly though.)

Confusion's usefulness buffed. Acts like Mario's cape for projectiles, and at close range it flips the character onto their sitting down animation (same as tripping on a banana) on the ground, and in the air it flips them around and sends them with low momentum in a random direction (excluding through mewtwo). Alternatively, the move could be similar to Water in the game, as it flips you about it doesn't interrupt you at all. This would be useful for warping recoveries, as well as some funny / interesting situations.

Disable stuns like ZSS' gun, and works as long as it hits the other character, as opposed to only working when hitting their eyes (It would be IMPOSSIBLE to hit a character like squirtle.). Also, the move can be angled up or down. If hit in the air, a character is forced into their airdodge animation.

Down smash either hits both sides, is changed into a slow-but-powerful killing move (like Lucas'.. except one hit and stronger), or is left how it is and is faster.

Up smash cannot be DI'd out of, and is much stronger.

Forward smash has more range and is more powerful.

All tail attacks have a sweet spot at the tip which does more damage and knockback.

Teleport (UpB) has a faster ending animation.

Now that, that would be one sexy character. Oh, and his Up and Back throws should remain the most powerful in the game.

To above poster: The way to win with mewtwo was by never using smash attacks, just crazy tilt and aerial combos that destroyed the opponent, then you could juggle them off horizontally like jigglypuff with his Bair. Alternatively, you could meteor smash them twice and still recover with Mewtwo's great recovery, or you could finish them with a shadow ball at high percentages, and even better - a throw at mid-high percentages.

woah, that's a hard post to follow up. but i think mewto is 100% better. his throwing move was sweet. i tend to, on challanges use grappleing more then i should(to the point where i guess u could call it cheating). and if mewto had made brawl, no questions i would have used him on most of the challanges. only thing i dident like was his mobilty. i wish he was faster. not as speedy as fox,but you kno... fast.
