Pit spam was worse in the beginning of Brawl. Metaknight totally dismantles Jigglypuff, just because his attacks have similar priority, his attacks have longer reach, and he has nearly as much air maneuverability as Jiggly.
I've never really appealed to the popular characters though. And I really like Jigglypuff and Yoshi (Although Yoshi I barely use... he's a realy good character. I won a tournament match with him in Melee; as well as with Mewtwo and Luigi)
^ slight correction on the jiggly/ metaknight priority.
there are two different types of priority and your mixing them together.
the first involves a disjointed hit box. this means that the character's hit box extends out farther than their hurt box. aka a sword. this is why metaknight out prioritizes jiggly so much. because his hit box reaches jiggly's hurt box but the reverse is not true.
jiggly's kind of priority comes up when two GROUND attacks come together and hit box reaches hurt box and the same time for both character. if this were to happen then jiggly's move would over ride metaknight's. hope this clears things up a bit
Ah, but Jiggly's pound (Side-B) attack, even when she's in midair, goes through nearly every other attack (grounded or not). So she gets priority in the air?
And I messed up with the first post, I meant that Metaknight just outranges her.
oh in the air there is only one kind of priorty. the first one. so if two hit boxes reach two hurt boxes both will hit. the reason the pound move has such good priority is cuz for some reason there is a halo of air around jiggly's arm that hits... its smaller in brawl than in melee but its there. so in effect jijggly's pound has a disjointed hit box. thats why its so good with priority
oh and ya haha i have a friend who mains metaknight... i know all about the beasting of poor jiggly by him haha
Ah. Also the duration on pound helps too I guess. (the effect is there even after the slap animation has "Pounded") thanks for clearing it up. And yeah, I should have figured it out on my own, I've collided many times in the air and have both got sent rocketing and watch my opponent fly off the screen in the other direction :P
