Hanley flopped 2 plays...

1 when Reyes bunted, Hanley should have covered 2nd base cuz u guys had a shot to throw out Anderson running to 2nd but he didnt cover.

2 a pass ball went by and Anderson ran to third ur catcher threw to third but got past the third baseman, Hanley was supposed to back him up but didnt resulting in Anderson scoring.

I remember seeing that. Gary Cohen pointed both times out. Another thing he pointed out was when Hanley was up at the plate, it was a 2-2 count. Next thing I know he says "And Hanley takes right down the middle for a ball". I was like wtf?? Lol as funny as it was to hear him say that, that was a terrible call that set up Willingham's homer. Another crap call was Treanor getting Reyes when he stole 2nd, again pointed out that he did in fact get his hand in before the tag was applied. Still though, that's baseball & I can't complain because they won & Santana looked great, not to mention his changeup was disgusting. One thing that was funny was Willie's reply to a reporter's stupid question during the press conference. It was about Castillo & something that happened (didn't catch the first 30 minutes of the game), I guess they faulted him for not going to the plate when the Marlins centerfielder dove for the ball but dropped it. Wille replied (sarcastically, of course) "I'll chastise him about that when I see him. I'll get a whip & beat him for it", it went something like that but really, that was a stupid question...

I was quite happy with Iguchi, 3-5 with 2 doubles and single to boot. Considering the history of the Padres, the 4 runs last night was an offensive explosion, but I find it a bit pathetic with 14 hits we only scored 4 runs. Bard hit Oswalt pretty well, and pinch hitter Tony Clark came through with a hit and an rbi. I'm hoping we can repeat with Young on the mound tonight, I think Young should be better now than he was at the end of last year, which is promising.

Also I was off on Peavy's stat line as far as batting, he went 1 for 1 with a sac fly and a walk and 2 rbi.

1- he still young and it shows at times

2- Cantu isn't the best defensive player

Well Pedro isnt lookin to good so far, still early and anything can happen. He gotta stop with the fastball, the marlins are a dead fastball team.

Wow, crap loss, that high change Wise threw was in the exact same spot it was a pitch earlier when Andino swing & missed. Like it wasn't even a centimeter off, it was in the EXACT SAME SPOT. Great game though, both bullpens were awesome. Hope Pedro will be ok...

I don't think it looked all that bad. He was able to walk off the field & he didn't grimace all that much, but I just hope it doesn't mean too much time away, he's worked way to hard to get back to where he got after surgery...

That could be one of those nagging injuries.

Rubber Match Tomorrow Night

Oliver Perez vs. Andrew Miller, it's a battle of the southpaws tomorrow night. Hopefully Perez will be inspired to deliver after winning his arbitration case over the offseason. I'll be getting tickets for either next friday or saturday. Saturday is suppose to be Santana's start, but with Pedro hurt, they may go with a 4 man rotation which might throw things off a bit...

Chris Young is pitching quite well, just started the top of the 6th inning no runs allowed, he's given up 5 hits, 4 walks, and has got 3ks.

Now this inning isn't starting too great, 2 consecutive hits, hopefully he can get something going and get out of the inning unscathed.

Young only went 5 and 2/3 innings, but got the win nonetheless. Good relief pitching got Young out of the bases-loaded jam only allowing 1 run and the Hoffman got the save with 1 hit allowed and 2ks.

Once again, excess of hits and barely enough runs, 9 hits and only 2 runs.
