Thomas has been on fire as of late, he had two homers in the Boston series and had a total of ten RBIs after the series. He hit a two run shot against his old team Oakland last night.

Went to the game, it was decent, they lost 9-8. Their hitting was good, but Burnett had a horrible game. Glad we are not overpaying him or anything...

Marlins beat the Nats 10-4.

Mike Jacobs hit 2 HR's and Cantu had one as well.

Pelfrey came through in his 1st start of the year. To all the Met fans that didn't want him anymore, I think it's time to give him another chance & I don't just say that because of his win tonight.

Think about it, John Maine really stepped up as he won his last few starts of the 2006 season, his rookie season. He won 15 games last year.
Oliver Perez finished the 2006 season 3-11 with the Pirates & Mets, looked great in the playoffs in 06 (even though it wasn't his rookie year), then matched Maine's 15-10 record last season with a lower ERA.

Then there's Pelfrey, who won his last 3 starts last year & finished 3-8. Maybe it's just a pattern with 1st year Met pitchers??

Well whatever the case, I think Pelfrey will finish the year with 10 wins, at least given El Duque gets more rest over the season to prevent too much injury.

That's just my take on things...

Ugh another walk off loss to the worthless Giants, Germano pitched very well, could've gone 8 if Buddy Black would have let him. 83 pitches through 7, I was impressed, and also Sanchez pitched out of his mind for the Giants.

Yea that as a great game for Pelrey last night. And its about time the ball went the Mets way with 4 errors for Phils. Delgado is lookin really good at the start of this year, takin the ball the other way. Bullpen was solid, but the offense still isnt clicking they win 8-2 but only had 5 hits.

Met have just signed Claudio Vargas to a minor league deal.

Vargas, 29, went 11-6 with one save and a 5.09 ERA in 29 games, including 23 starts, last year for the Brewers

He is planned to make 1 or two starts in AAA then come up to the Bigs

Sounds like the Mets are trying to get some help. 5.09 ERA is kinda scary, but eh.

Yea that ERA does jump out at u but that where Rick Peterson comes into play...and he should make the Bigs by the time Pedro comes back so maybe he will start in the bullpen

Haha, luckily I don't live and die by my Padres, I've learned that with this team pitching will be great, but offense will be scarce. So I accept that and just deal with whatever happens, I just want them to get some support to bolster the offense, it's quite pathetic getting shut out by the Giants.

WOW wat a game that was Mets and Phils went to the bottom of the 12th and finally win it on a Angel Pagan single scoring Jose Reyes from second. The entire game felt like it was september...just a great game, both team...just glad the Mets won.
