Yes Ice Cube might be a great rapper, but being a great rapper doesn't make your song and lyrics great or less hurtful. People can easily argue that Hitler was a brilliant strategist, but doesn't make his actions "great". Same goes for ice cube, theres a difference between talent and skill and how you use them. I'm Korean, so I strongly take offense. If rappers like Ice Cube are trying to encourage kids to get out of the hood, why is he putting such negative aspects and a word to act in their raps?

 I liked the Ice Cube who yelled "It's Ice Cube Nigga!" in songs. He's from Compton, California and it's not a friendly city. I'm from the 5th most violent city in the U.S for 2008 and you can't just get offended by a song around here.

Actually Ice Cube wrote it after he came into stardom, since this was after his first rap group. Being a thug isn't an excuse, personally I think thugs are sad. There are countless people that proved that you can make it out of violent cities and ghettos to become bright successful people. Yes, I can get offended because this speaks directly at my race. I'm sure black people would be offended too if popular artists released songs that diminish and generalize their race in a negative aspect. Also I'm angry because I go through racism everyday, seeing that I live in a part of town dominated by snobby racist white kids who call everything ghetto if it fails to function the way they want it to be. If a little kid is told something is bad or not right, they grow up thinking that and thinking it is true. The same goes for this song.
