Opens in wide release +tomorrow+ May 2nd!

Looks fantastic, getting outstanding reviews (currently 94% on RT), and we *will* be sneaking away from work on Friday to catch an early show (shhh, don't tell my boss).

Sounds like Favreau has put together a terrific superhero flick. I knew the RDJ casting was on point, but it sounds like everything else really came together.

Oh yeah I see we have showings that start tonight too! I guess the "official" release date is tomorrow (according to the main site), but like so many big pics they do like a 1/2 day "pre-release".

im gonna try to make it tonight, depending on ticket availablity. Otherwise tomorrow is a definite go. And yea i always stay after the credit for EVERY movie..thanks for the heads up though.

I don't have high hopes with this movie, at all. Come on, Robert Downey Jr.?

I never really expected him at all but from what I've seen he was PERFECT for the role.

I don't know. I think reserving judgment is a good idea. Everyone I know who's seen it back at work (I work for a media marketing company who gets advance tickets and such) has said it rocked, and that Downey just owns the role -- basically owns it like Depp owned Sparrow. I was kinda like "????" when I first heard the casting, but every review says it's phenomenal... so I'd give it a chance.

Downey certainly has his share of disposable movies, especially during the 80's - but he's done some outstanding work - look at this small sampling:

Wonder Boys
Natural Born Killers
Chaplin
Less Than Zero


Those roles are funny, dark, dramatic, quirky - and the movies themselves are some terrific pieces of cinema. Look at the depth required to go from Less Than Zero to Chaplin to Zodiac.

I think he's an exceptional talent.

Iron Man imo will trump that movie tenfold. I'm definitely excited to see this one, this is the first movie in quite a while that I've actually wanted to go see opening night. Every time I see a commercial for it I want to see it more.

*laughs* I'm seeing Sarah Marshall this weekend too. But in addition to Iron Man. I love me some Kristin Bell, and am bummed I haven't gotten to see it yet. :< Movie weekend, here I come...
