Ok, I just downloaded GIMP secretly (I feel dirty inside

) and I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the buttons and whatnot. Can someone explain to me what these buttons do (and their name)?

In gimp, how do you take off the white squaresurrounding copy & pasted images?

I assume you want the out line of the pasted image to match the out line of the full image

its call crop to selection

Ok, I got paint.net, andso far I like it, but I'm having the same problem I did with Gimp! You knowhow when you c&p images, it's got a large white square surrounding it? On paint there was a button to get rid of that! But I can't find the button on paint.net.

Highlight the pasted image outline
crop to selection

But doesn't that delete the background?
