Since it was first announced back in February, Australian developer Nnooo’s forthcoming WiiWare game, escapeVektor: Chapter 1, has attracted a lot of interest from vector gaming fans. Now Nnooo (try saying that quickly!) has finally announced that it will be releasing the game for download on September 29 in the Americas, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, for the princely sum of 500 Wii Points.

escapeVektor is a retro-style arcade game where the player controls Vektor, an entity that is trapped inside the player’s CPU. Gameplay involves helping Vektor to escape, and avoiding enemies sent out by the CPU to track Vektor down. Each enemy type has different hunting patterns and intelligence, making escape increasingly difficult as you progress. New abilities can be unlocked to help Vektor overcome the baddies, though.

“We’ve made a game which we believe will appeal to casual through to more dedicated gamers”, said Nic Watt, Creative Director at Nnooo. “The gameplay is straightforward enough for everyone to pick up but the the game itself becomes increasingly complex, particularly if the player wants to complete all levels without using Detonate, one of Vektor’s abilities. We’ve also included 40 badges for players to collect.”
“There are 30 levels to play and a medal system which will challenge the most hardcore gamer”, said Watt. “We’ve also gone for that retro arcade feel and backed it up with some great music. In addition, bonus levels open up if you own our other WiiWare game, Pop. We’ll be releasing more details about the game over the coming weeks.”
escapeVektor: Chapter 1 marks a return to WiiWare for Nnooo following on from the highly successful Pop, which was one of only six launch titles for WiiWare in the Americas.
