THQ today confirmed that the Wii U version of Darksiders II will be available at launch, complete with at least five hours of extra bonus content, which will not be included on other formats. The extra content is set to include the first DLC expansion, Argul’s Tomb, plus all pre-order bonuses from other editions, as well as legendary weapons and armour. The game is being designed to take full advantage of the Wii U GamePad, displaying maps and objectives on the touch screen, as well as providing quick access to abilities and Death’s inventory. The system’s gyro feature will also help the player to avoid enemy attacks, manipulate objects in the game world, and control the character when swimming and riding.
Darksiders II features Death, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, in a storyline that runs parallel to the events in the Darksiders original game, as Death travels through various dark and light worlds in an effort to redeem his brother, War, who was blamed for kicking off the Apocalypse early in the original game.Ryan Stefanelli, Producer of Darksiders II commented: “We are delighted that Wii U owners will be able to experience the vast world of Darksiders II at launch. The unique Wii U GamePad adds a whole world of possibility that we will be taking advantage of in this title.”
