how do you customize your color/armor?

i cant seem to figure it out, read the manual, looked online and i cant find the menu for character custimization.

While in a matchmaking lobby press start on your controller. From there press right on the direction pad to get into settings. Once you have done that choose the Appearance option and you should be able to change your emblem and armor along with the colours of your armor and emblem.
