SD card adapter for Wii photo

I have a standard size XD card for my digital camera and it is just slightly to big for the slot
will an adapter allow me to put the card in sideways

I hear adapters work, but not all adapters.

I'll try and look for which adapters work

edit: nintendo says the only adapters that will work are for the sd card micros and sd card mini adapters.
