Rayman Raving Rabbids

Hi

New to this so hopefully Im in the right place. Just bought Raving Rabbids and cant get the game to work properly. Whenever we go to one of the first mini games eg running with the package or throwing the cow about the remote just doesnt register any action on screen. Nothing. I figure its a problem with the wiimote but have no idea how to fix it
