Guitar Hero problems

I've been searching for an answer to this problem, but I guess no one else has had one like it! My problem only occurs when I'm playing co-op and only when we're playing hard. Everything's fine until we get to the fourth set.. then an error screen pops up. "Unable to read disc." On any other difficulty it's smooth sailing.. has anyone else had this problem?
