Of course I've used OS 9, who could forget the classic Mac Clamshell laptop? And you can run OS 9 games on your OS 10/X by going to Preferences>Classics.

Although OS 9 lacked some security refinements, comapred to Windows, it's a small amount let's say.

I won't try and persuade anyone here, but since it was asked i'll give my 2 cents. If you play a lot of PC games, don't get a mini for your gaming machine. You could get a Mac Pro and get a better video card and then dual boot with vista. Here's the things to consider in my opinion.
-Price, obviously - I think macs a good deal for what you get, don't let people throw numbers at you, like it was stated before, Mac OS runs on less then windows.
-Customer Service - Apple Support is second to none, if you get a mini or anything else spend the extra $200 and get the 3 year warranty. I sent my macbook in for a problem with the screen and they airmailed me a box with tape and padding and a return label and I got it back fixed in 3 days, they also noticed problems that I didn't think were a big deal and replaced them for free.
I would recommend a MacBook, they just got upgraded processors and RAM for the same price, + built in 802.11g, you could get an adapter to hook it up to a monitor for 20 bucks and they may be only 13" but they are VERY portable and if you ever want to bring it to school it makes things easier.

Only if you have a PPC. They ditched classic with the switch to Intel.

If you would read my posts, I specifically said OS X. That is just all Apple Computers.
