Newbie is a term for someone who is more new to something, but has an idea what to do.
Noob is a term for someone who is new to something, and has no idea what to do and often messes up.
With a N00b, it kind of like a person who licks pavement. They do things just to do it, and seem to lack all forms of common sense.


Umm just to try to clarify my point more... I'll give some of my MMO examples.

When going into PvP, a N00B heads straight for the Neutral monster instead of the other players, or yells at the Tank to heal.
A Noob tries to attack with a staff when they're a caster (never, ever do that).
A Newbie does things fairly well, but doesn't have the experience to do things properly. (As a caster) Blast, Blast, Blast, Blast, gets hit, can't cast anymore and dies. Should be Blast, Blast, root/mez, run further, then Blast, Blast.

I dislike most forms of slang.
I really can't see why one wouldn't want to speak their language correctly!
I speak Queens English, and I always will do.
I just think that any one person that uses slang a little too excessively are just plain lazy.

ok from your comments, i can tell your quite young. because there is a reason behind l33t, and it was back when internet chat rooms where big, and 'hackers' as such used them to comunicate. and l33t speak was a simple way of talking quickly without to much decoding.
and theres different types of l33t, wtih normal l33t as i showed, and elite l33t and some others..
