Darkprinny's got a point, there are alot of ugly porn stars around. Can't help but wonder how they got into the industry sometimes!

But as far as hentai goes, I don't understand why everybody's tip-toeing around this issue so carefully, it's just pictures, no different from photos of actual porn stars. For anyone who claims its any less real than pictures of "actual people" I suppose you're failing to take into account all the air-brushing and photoshopping that went into making that person look as "good" as they do; basically, my point is if you don't know the porn star in person, you can't claim they're any more real than a hentai character, because to everyone they're nothing more than ink on paper or pixels on a screen.

Regarding Darkprinny's earlier post about hentai characters being able to do more than real actors can, I agree, As when you watch hentai, the things the characters are doing suddenly become more acceptable than if it were depicted with real people, because they are only cartoons. If real people were doing what was going on, or being subjected to what some characters go through, you're more likely to feel deeply disgusted for watching it rather than seeing it depicted through cartoon characters..

I think the appeal lies with hentai for people who are more attracted to shapes/curves than the actual medium. For example, you might find a porn star attractive because she is who she is "Jenna Jameson" or "Aria Giovanni" (or just because its a girl/guy [depends what floats your boat]) or because of how she appears, and how her curves translate to your own interpretation. Has anyone guy (or girl) ever had the chat with someone about who they think is hotter, and can never agree on a verdict? That's because you both find different aspects of a person physically attractive. One might like her for her curves, another might like her because he sees something else in her. It all comes down to how you break things down, and see things whichever perspective you choose to see it from.

As far as hentai is concerned, I find it highly amusing! We watched La Blue Girl at a mates place when we were drunk once and it's probably one of the funniest hentai animes around! It's pretty twisted, but then again, it wouldn't be so funny if it wasn't

I used to watch heaps of it when I was younger (like 12-14/15) but it was just a phase; I'm now 20 I watch, for the most part real stuff nowadays, but there's some places only Hentai will go, and for that I think I'll always have a soft spot for it; still reminds me of my younger days

Ultimately, I don't see anything wrong with hentai, it just depends what way you look at it. Even my sister (almost 18) finds it amusing, and one of my girl-mates enjoys it with her boyfriend as something to laugh at (they were both cut when he lost his hentai DVD)

*extra note* there was a shop in the city that used to sell hentai DVDs.
