Guitar or bass players?

Hey guys, I'm planning on getting a new bass guitar and i'm not sure what to get.

I'm planning on getting one of these.

but i'm not sure if I should get maple fretboard or rosewood fret board? I have an Ibanez rosewood right now, and it works great. I haven't really tried any maple though. I need a good all round bass. Guitar players are welcome to put in their two cents. Thanks and PLEASE HELP!
