Blu-ray/HD-DVD sales figures?

where could i find these? i know blu-ray is winning but id like to see by how much, thanks.

edit: yes i did google but all of the results were from early this year, around Feb. they say blu-ray is behind but catching up fast. id like the most recent figures.

No I know, but it's the closest thing I found. I was trying to remember what site I was wanting to search, but couldn't figure out what it was.

The split of all HDM sales for the last 12 months or so have averaged 68% BD and 32% HD-DVD - I believe there have been some surge months from HD-D where they've done closer to 60/40 (but months before it there were several 70/30's.

The recent announcement from Warner concerning a May 2008 changeover to BD exclusive is not great news for HD-D, but it's also not gloom and doom as it still has to actually happen and even if it does, there's still a decent amount of HD-D support (from exclusives to dual format support).

I'm not really worried - I'll either switch to a dual format player (like the Samsung U5000 I had on order) or add a BD player or PS3 and continue to enjoy my existing HD titles while I add BD titles to our collection

Yea, it's not like it's the end of the world if one goes under since they have the dual format players now. How much do they run nowadays?

i have heard at least 4 ot 5 big time movies will be released on blu ray exclusively so unfortunately even though i can't answer the q, it looks like blu ray will ultimately win. There goes my excuse for buying a 360.

You don't need an excuse to get a 360, there are much better games for 360 than there are for PS3.

Speak for yourself I'm struggling to find a game I like for my 360... Stuck with Gears of War.

Sorry, for the most part people are much more impressed with the game selection regarding 360 over PS3.

(What kind of games are you into? To keep this from getting too off topic, you can PM me if you like.)

Essentially both formats look very good, it's just that Blu-Ray has the backing of more distributors.
