Very true idjut. We were just discussing in one of my classes how when there is competing formats it is rarely the better product that wins.

Well, *hopefully* the war went on long enough for Sony, the other studios and the CE manufacturers to get a good sense of the price point where the "regular consumer" says yes to HDM.
At the end of the day I just want a solid, HD media experience, that doesn't cost an arm-and-a-leg.
I'll be investing into a BD solution +very+ soon. I may, or may not sell/bail on my existing HD-D gear/media (though a quick offer turned up 2 or 3 buyers almost instantly, so that' one possible direction).

Yeah I'm happy with DVDs, until I'm forced to move on.

Same here. I don't need an HD movie, to me it all looks the same.Originally Posted by Skorp

After having had HD-D for a few months, I'll be migrating to BD pretty quickly. I'm planning on replacing 300 and Blade Runner Final Cut HD-D with BD versions as soon as I decide on the BD player (might be a PS3, seems like a decent mid-range, plus of course, there's some kind of game machine tossed in thereOriginally Posted by Skorp

It's better, I don't think that's up for debate - now the specific equipment, movie, person watching might introduce_some_ variance - the BIG difference is whether it's *important* to you and your movie watching experience. We're huge movie enthusiasts, so we like the best experience possible, and without question, that's HDM (whether it's HD-D or BD).Originally Posted by manred
