I'm applying for employment benefits since I'm a poor student.

Can someone please tell me if I should check the box that says "I'm a visible minority"?

I'd say you should check the white box. Even though you're not white, having minority status affecting income taxes and not actual income is quite strange. I'd not say you're really a minority who has it extremely hard.

Or just go for it.

It often does refer to Australians, but Native Americans are Aboriginals too.

About significant fraction of Iranians, Afghanis and Syrians, etc have very light skin and eye color ranging from light green to hazel. Are they white? xD
