Another question..

You come home from an excellent day of hard work from your school/job, and enjoy the rest of the evening to relax. The moon is up, and you're ready for a good night's rest.. you end up dreaming a dream so good you don't want it to end, but sadly it does only to have you wake up to pitch black at 8:00AM... you can't hear anything, and you can't feel anything either. You realize that possibly the worst has happened.. You're blind, you've lost your hearing, and you no longer have the sense of touch, taste, or smell.. completely blocked off from the world in what could be described as a pitch black prison of eternal silence and loneliness.

What do you feel would realistically be your immediate reaction to this? How would you cope with this if you were able to? Would you want to die? Would you endlessly hope for a cure and continue on living? Say you have a family or loved one, you will no longer be able to see them, hear them, feel them, nor speak to them.

Immediate reaction would probably be an attempt at some kind of scream, but obviously nothing would happen, probably some flailing of the arms and legs as well to see if I could feel anything. Not sure if I could cope with it though, I hate the thought of just giving up and saying I'd want to die...so maybe give myself to science? My family could get a lot of money out of it, and I could be useful. Make no difference to me really would it : /

That is a terrifying question. I actually got really sad for a little bit after reading that. I'm an art major so not having my eyes would be DEVASTATING.

My immediate reaction would be depression, for sure. I'd get over it, though.

I wouldn't want to cease living, though. Naturally, I would be on an ongoing search for a cure (somehow), but above all else, I would try as hardest as I can to remain close to my loved ones. I would try to live a life of advising those I care about most to live respectable lives. Seeing as I've had a talent for discussion like that, it would be a good way of utilizing that. I would also have to get a loved one to take me to church every Sunday, as well.

This is deeply terrifying to think about, but I think I could get through it.

I was watching this documentary on TV and they said that aliens were here in Earth way back to around the Mesopotamian days. In matter of fact they said that aliens were the ones that taught early farmers irrigation. Mesopotamia was taught in 6th grade history. That's what they said on TV and it sounds weird but they found a fossil of a skull that wasn't human, it was big and they think that it's an alien. :^•

I believe alien life exists, although I'm utterly perplexed as to why some people think they travel across the vast distances of space to come and dick around on Earth.

Yes, I'd want to die in that case. To me, there's no point in living if you're not "living".

Well I suppose the idea is you can still speak to God, although I thought Christians believed he was everywhere?

In fact, consider that my next question for this thread. To the religious members: why do you go to church (or mosque, temple, etc.) if God is supposed to be everywhere?

Two general reasons: fellowship between other people, and the "power of the Spirit" can be magnified when in groups. Plus you go there to learn new things, or get reminded of things that you may have forgotten.
