I've only heard of him through satire. Since there will undoubtly be plenty of Pokemon in the game, alternate outfits make sense.

Otherwise, I would agree, no two trainers deserve to take up two whole character slots in SSBU. Not that I'd complain, since that'd result in an extra three Pokemon in the game...
