Not at all. The only thing missin' from that video, far as I recall, is the fact that melee weapons were added into the update right after said video was made. Almost all the advice in the video is still very valid.

Speakin' of, never bother with the crowbar if on another spawn ya can't find any weapons. Absolutely worthless.

Nope, but apparently the DayZ creator does. The hatchet does much more damage than the crowbar, I believe.

If all ya have is a crowbar, you'll hardly be able to defend yourself anyways. You're better off sprintin' away from any threats if all ya have is the worst weapon in the game. You wouldn't be able to handle more than one zombie with the piece of junk.
