Rocket Slime? :(

So, I just got Rocket Slime for the DS. To be honest...I really don't like it off the bat. Does this game get better or tougher? I guess it is a bit different than I thought it was going to be. I thought it was going to be more of a platformer or whatever.

Should I give it more of a chance? Or should I forget about it and go get Elite Beat Agents or March of the Minis?
