Sent ds or repairs

My ds broke where the hinge is. I was waiting to take it back to wal-mart, but they haven't had them in lately. So I went ahead and sent it back to Nintendo. Has anyone on here sent there to Nintendo for repairs? I was just wanting to know how long does it usually take? I think I like the ds more than the kids do, and really miss it. I am really thinking of getting the new blue one coming out just to have an extra. Thanks for any input on this, Misty
