If you're talking about component cables, your TV has to support it. Component cables are used for ED and HD TVs.

HDTV (High Definition TV) have 6 holes. For this Cable to enhance GFX

Without a HDTV you can't use this Cable and it is not needed

if you just have the red, white, and yellow ports then no you cant handle the component cables. you need a blue and green in addition to those other 3 ports.

Component cables have 5 connectors... Red, Green, Blue + Red, White

Composite have 3 connectors... Yellow + Red, White

As far as SCART goes I'm not sure.
