    I orderd mine two weeks before CHRISTMAS... so, they found the problem pretty quickly. But, ofcourse, the remotes that i got about 1 week b4 the wii were in there thinner state....

    I got my Wii at launch. It came with the new strap. I know this because I bought a wiimote and it had a thinner attachment than the one which came with the console.
