Coolg, it is perfectly understandable that they want the wii to play dvd's they may not be able to afford a new dvd player or buying a new console..

a new dvd player is like $25 in aus so would be much cheaper in other countries, if you can afford a wii you can afford $25

I was talking about a Blue Ray or HD-DVD player... Blue Ray player: $900ish. HD DVD: $400ish..

Coolg. I have the HD-DVD Samsung. Kost me 4500:- Swedish krones.And so did my Nintendo WII cost. But i just wondered. But i think it will be able to play DVDs if the chip comes. So did the Gamecube when the chip came to the GAMECUBE.
