Wii in singapore

need so pronto help please
I will be in singapore tomorrow on a stopover. They are selling US Wii and japanese. They say the only difference is that the American has Wii sports on it and the manual is in English.

I am liing in the UK so need the Wii to be able to play English (PAL) games.

anybody have any advice.

Also on the subject of games i found some copy games in malaysia am i correct that these wont work on either of the above consoles

hae done some inestigation and found that you can't change the language on the japanese version so thats out

so my next question is?

can i play pal games on the american (NTSC) version without chipping?

can i still play original games as well as back ups or only back ups?

you will probably still need a tv that supports NTSC and PAL.

and if its chipped it will play normal games as well as pirat...i mean your backup games.
