Wiimote shuts off after not touching it for a while.
If it's connected to your PC, it doesn't shut off.

There are some applications where that is enough. You have two inputs to manipulate, and a number of ways to make them interactive. As you saw in the video, he was able to zoom in and on the object, and move it from side to side. For some applications, including some games, you really don't need much more than that.

That is great. I sure you could even make some gesture commands for some games.

    Like tap your fingers together

I dont know, but it sure looks cool.

    wauw!!!!!!!

That is very cool! Anyone find the resemblens between this and the new computer microsoft is working on?( You know that big ass table! )

The part where this guy is turning and rotating a square looks a lot like that!
    Tip of the day:
A big mistake a lot of you make is that wiiware games will be free.

Wiiware is just the same like the virtual console. Its different in that it offers new games instead of old console games.

I can think of some easy games ( Like tetris and some other in that direction ) that can be free but the majority will cost money.

Maybe, using this, you can actually hold a tennis racket or baseball bat while playing wii sports. That would be pretty kool.

Wii Sports doesn't use the IR pointer outside of menus. Just the accelerometer. Any useful application of this tech is going to be on PC.

Wait... hold on. I have an easier suggestion, although it's also less tech and more easy... It might not even work. Just put an IR LED on something like stretchy fabric, attach it to a small battery, and put your Wii remote on top of the LED.
    BTW, I haven't done this. It's just a suggestion.

    EDIT------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Put the WiiMote on the TV, not on the LED.

I've got a Wii. 7 of my friends do too. I hope you brought your nunchuk.

I'm guessing you miswrote that. Putting your wiimote on top of an IR LED does nothing. Unless you're trying to keep the wind from blowing the LED away.
