    Depending on the type of person:

    Super Mario Galaxy - platformer, overall satisfying to many people.

    The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - adventure RPG style game, fantasy

    Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - first person shooter/adventure game, sci-fi. like
    zelda but you shoot stuff instead of swinging a
    sword

    Mario Stikers Charged - online/sports, good online sports game

    Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 - Shooter/online, good first person shooter with
    online play

    Resident Evil 4: Wii Addition - shooter, good first person shooter with lots of
    blood.

    Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbros' Treasure - strategy, very good point and
    click strategy game

    I hope one of these hits to their interest type, other games to consider that would be honorable mention:

    Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn - RPG/Stretegy
    Super Paper Mario - platformer
    NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams - platformer (comes out Dec 18)
    Guitar Hero II: Legends of Rock - music

    I would say a very safe bet would be Super Mario Galaxy. To me that is a game everyone can enjoy, from young children to adults. I remember playing it as a little kid (Mario Bros.) and that made me still a fan today. So regardless of the age of the person you are buying for, they should like it.

    Games like Medal of Honor, Metroid Prime, may be for the older gamers. I view Mario Strikers Charged as a younger generation game since its not a sports game in the traditional sense (even though I'd play it).
