    Woah...

    Can I have a pony? ;p

Seriously, looks like a good list. The Wii does have parental controls which I haven't explored (my son is only 5), but one thing you might want to consider (based on an earlier comment) is to nix the 2000 point card. With 500 of those points, she can purchase a web browser and be online doing whatever. However, if you do keep the point card, you may need to conser 2 Wii Classic Controllers. Many of the older games (which you can purchase with points via the "Virtual Console") are still some of the best games. I'm not sure if any allow more than 2 players, however.

If you want some bargain games, the Wii will also play any Game Cube game (but you would need to also get up to 4 Game Cube controllers as well).

I second, third, whatever the motion for Super Mario Galaxy and Zelda: Twilight Princess. Both are game franchises that sell and have sold Nintendo consoles for years. Super Mario Galaxy, the ultimate 3-D platformer, is being considered by the industry for the game of the year with less than a dozen other games total (and may be the only Wii game in consideration), so this one you shouldn't pass up. Zelda is an Adventure/RPG and considered by most the best of its type on the Wii. A good game for puzzle solving.

    Good luck.

i read ur situation n think wii is a nice gift

i would recomend getting wiiplay it cost $10 more then a wiimote and come with a wiimote with a bunch of mini games

there a few games i would recomend more then
zelda, sonic, resident evil and paper mario

i actually liked them all exept i never played the sonic n didnt hear great things but those are all 1 player games and if she isnt a gamer then she might not like them anyways heres a list of games i would recomend in a few different genres

    education
big brain acadeny is fun with an educational twist 2 it

if she likes words and english my word coach is an education game that helps you spell and learn new words

    party games
mario party is a great multiplayer game
and so is rayman but i only have the 1st one the second one isnt as good i hear but cant b that bad wario smooth moves has been praised as well
Cooking Mama is another title that seems more suitable for a mixed with younger and older audience

    board games
jenga wii might b fun also Cranium Kabookii and smarty pants are good if u like trivia style board games

    animal games
you sad ur daughter like animals they have a game called pets dogz 2, pets catz 2 and pets horsez 2 might b ok

    singing
there are also singing games 2 practice singing but i dont play those games to get into that boogie , highschool musical and alvin and the chipmunks to name a few)

the games i reccomended are mostly if not all multiplayer so your daughter can play with her friends as well as you the parents

    battery answer
and in terms of charger i have chargable batterys and im not happy having to open them and switch batterys so often
i hear good things about the nyko charging station
u can also get charbles for more wiimotes with out buying another station

guitar hero and ddr are loads of fun

2 controllers are fine but 4 is desirable if she has lots of friends comming over

    good luck

Im 13 turning 14 too, And if i were her, stupid kiddie games like Mario Party 8 is boring and i would be turned off after a while. Especially with the review it gets 6.5/10

As a 13 year old, I prefer games such as Super mario galaxy and Super Smash Brothers Brawl. But if i had heaps of friends over I would like 1 or 2 Multiplayer games, but not to play by myself on 1 player mode. If the game specialises in party/multiplayer, then i would simply not play it if there wasnt another person to play with. A

    Thats my 2 cents cyoiz

btw im not a "hardcore gamer" just casual.

Are you male, or female? I believe the Wii is a gift for her homeschooled Daughter, correct?

At 13-going-on-14 one would presume that by now you should be capable of a bit of forethought on such matters. I'm sure there are a gaggle of young girls who love SSBB...though not as many as young boys.

The OP also stated the reasoning for the Wii, and that their household tends to be the "gathering" spot for the child and her friends, thus the need for multiplayer games.
