There probably wouldn't be a FPS as good as halo 3...Seeing as what games the gamecube had, the wii probably wouldn't have a good FPS...people think the target market for wii is kids seeing as nintendo has pokemon, mario, and all that

Game makers aren't that stupid, they know that most Wii owners are younger people, but they also know they is a good amount that aren't and craving a good FPS, however your point does make sense and they would make more money selling shooters to the other consoles, however with more shooters coming out for the other consoles would bring out clear winners and losers leaving losers to bring there business else where, AKA the Nintendo Wii.

^actually the average age of Wii owners is 29 so developers have no excuse.

The Wii is marketed as an all-around console. A great FPS targets the 'hardcore' gamers that like intense gameplay AND superb graphics. A FPS game for the Wii could deliver the gameplay aspect, but the graphics requirement cannot.
The xbox 360 dominates FPS. It's unlikely that a game company would want to spend money for a Wii FPS when the xbox 360 is a sure thing (as long as the game doesn't suck, lol).
There is one other thing. I'm not sure how the xbox live membership works as far as who gets the money (exclusive to ms, % shared, etc?), but online play for the Wii does not generate any additional money. It may get more sales for the initial purchase of the game, but that's it.
IMO it's all about minimizing risk and maximizing profit, the Wii cannot offer that for a Halo-like FPS.

All that is needed, is to make turning with the wiimote faster (you can adjust the speed of which you turn in MOH:H2). Then twitch gaming will be like traditional arcades again, except you'll have more freedom and it wont be on the rails.
that is true. the problem is "hardcore" FPS shooter gamers wont wanna take the time to actually master a more advanced control scheme.

    Hmmm Great question!

To me halo plays like a quake 3 mod with console controls. Actually if you ever played the console version of UT on the old xbox you start to see what I'm talking about. Out of all of the FPSs ,geared to be on the fantasy side with online being big, halo seems to be the slowest moving game. I think gears has them beat though.

About dumbing or slowing the controls down?
I don't know I've played metroid prime and you would be hard pressed to beat those bosses with the controls Halo has or it's controller. Really the only thing lacking is online play and a head set I guess.
Some one could easily make a better game because halo relies on sand box maps mostly. Most of the halo community has not really been put into the the type of maps that actually made UT and some of the other FPSs what they where in the past. The whole thing(halo) moves way slower than the UT series and the quake series. Also too the level design is closer to what you would want in a rocket arena design which is actually a quake 3 mod. All I have to say is if you want to make a name for your self just go to ID's web site and D/L the source for quake 3 and port it to the Wii! Then people could use their old quake cd codes to play the game on the Wii! I mean the network code is already in there!

Also too Quake 3 has a possible port about to happen on the DS. Could this happen on the Wii sure but really once Wii ware hits you may see way more halo killers pop up because most mods guys may opt for a chance to try their hand at actually making some money rather than just giving away their hard work.

Like the guys above me said^^
Look out for for timesplitters since these are the guys that made golden eye a hit on the inferior N64. Yet for some reason it still has way more game play due to level design and engine tweaking. Ubisoft has some face to save with red steel 2 but I'm not betting on that one.

I guess you have to ask your self how you feel about halo 1 and 2? Since those are xbox 1 games and the Wii could do those games right now if you look at res evil and metroid and SSB.

On another note it was mainly hardcore FPS fans that where the most excited over the Wii mote aiming as a solution for console FPSs. Also too there are a lot of people complaining about accuracy yet all the Wii would have to do is do a firmware update to track 3 to 4 IR sources and a new IR bar that had those lights in it so the Wii could get exact references for the pointer in relation to the screen. Yet the controls work pretty good right now. You should rent and play these game in this order ok.

Red steel, COD, metroid, BWii, res evil 4, and then test out the online by way of EAs games since most of them don't really use friend codes.

Seriously the friend code thing is some thing to keep nintendo safe yet other are free to do as they will.
What is funny is I'm a lot more excited in the Wii mixing over head squad based play with FPS play.

I'm playing UT3, crysis, BWii, ET:QW right now. Yep BWii is in there also because it is what halo was about to be with more realism! Just look up an old fan site for halo and you will see why it truely was called halo before MS bought them.

What no call of duty? nope not yet! Sorry to turn the whole thing into why I don't like Halo but really most of the enjoyment you are getting from it can be found in a lot of other games. Halo is great but it just doesn't give me the FPS fix I'm looking for. Hey but halo has done more for online console play than any other game! We do need more of those type of games on the Wii!

What is funny is I wish you where right about the Wii gamers being younger since that would stop the complaints about too many mini games and kiddy games being made. This would also stop the My Wii is dusty guys from posting LOL.

Epic and bungie along with some other FPS kinds will absolutely crush all comers on the HD systems leaving the console developers to stick to a machine not dominated by the UT3 engine.

Just remember the xbox had nothing till halo. Hell I had hardly any thing to play on the N64 till golden eye. Things can change really quick. The key is marketing and answering the hardcore sans graphics maniacs. You will get ok stuff on the Wii but normal maps every where are still up in the air.
If any thing Halo actually shows that gamers that can't afford a FPS machine or PC will want to get the next best thing an xbox. I'm sure there are lots of people who still can't afford a HDtv and an xbox 360. Then on top of that they already have a Wii.

I though about the idea of nintendo making a new Wii mote or adding some thing to it so it lives up to the hardcore online gamer and really that could come in the form of a hardcore gamer update package!

    A HD( hard drive)!
A heads set!-of course all the needed updates would be on the harddrive.
A new 4 point sensor bar! The Wii mote can already track a load of IR points right now.
The Wii already has key board support! i think I may just try out my n52nostromo for kicks today on the Wii!
and games like you know doom1-3 all the way up to quake would be cool!
We all know nintendo is behind users making their own content! since thats what the N64DD was all about.
