Do you have a $1. If so, you might as well go for the Cat6.

Go to the Newegg link that I linked a few posts back. You can get 50 ft of generic CAT5 for $5.50, or 50 ft of name brand CAT6 for $6.50. I don't know what length you want, but I assume the difference in price stays about the same. Just go to the Newegg link and surf around.

Or you can get 50 feet for $5.50 plus $5 shipping at Newegg. Twenty feet would be cheaper.

    304.8m (1000ft)
    cat6 $110
    cat5e $75

cat5e will hold gigabit speed (up to 100m, 328ft)
    cat6 will hold gigabit+ speed

is it worth the extra $35 ???

i do plan on using it more than once (so yes i will use it all eventually) but i wont be covering a football field with 1 crimped wire.

btw.. for a measley $880 you can get cat7 LOL!!!

You mean the cables you get at Wal-Mart? LOL!

Those cables at Newegg are fine. I've bought several from them; others have given them good reviews as well. My bet is that you didn't even look. Nice.

All your wireless devices are sharing the same frequency, along with others that live around you. That also included cordless phones, microwaves, just keep adding more to your collection if you want. When I had my home built, I had them run Ethernet through the walls for a jack in every room, before the house was finished. (Almost every room. )
