Well you can play 2 players with one remote on wii sports, but I'm quite sure you won't be able to play any split-screen multiplayer games though.
I don't think there is, sorry :\ If you tried un-syncing the remote from the Wii and then syncing it again, it'd just show up as player 1... Perhaps I'm wrong, but I think your best bet is just to buy a new Wiimote.
Edit: Yeah, Toon Link is right, some games let you pass the player 1 remote from one person to the other, you could play those fine. But some turn-based multiplayer games still require you to have two remotes, even though only one is being used at a time.

Well, the only sports you can play using one Wii Remote are Bowling and Golf. Unfortunately, you need at least two Wii Remotes to play Tennis, Baseball, and Boxing. Does this answer your question?
