Future Digital Audio?

Has anyone heard of the Wii getting digital audio for 5.1 channel playback for games?

Kind of bummer to me that they didn't include this. It's analog audio or nothing.

God I hope so?! Whats the point of a fps if you can't hear the gunshots and explosions behind you?

DolbyPL2 has this feature tough the sounds are not nearly as good as on true DD5.1, The digital sound will not be added to the Wii since if there would be a digital prosessor for the sound it would already be in the console.
