my niece and nephew like the have the remotes and swing them around so they spin on the string.... maybe that has happened to these people, whether or not it has not happened to me yet, i just yell at them everytime i see them doing it so i dont lett them play when im not in the room haha.... no way they are gonna break my 60 dollar controllers!!
My spastic friend was playing mine and threw a bowling ball as hard as he could and the thing snapped. Luckily I have like 30' tall ceilings so it barely even made it to the ceiling, but he had some force behind that thing.
Hows is the string breaking "buggy"? The software has some bugs like freeze-ups and more framerate drops in Gamecube games the if you were to just play them on Gamecube. And you would have to be a real idiot to let go of the controller. That is a weird consideration to have when purchasing a Wii. So what are the odds? It depends, are you an idiot?
Look at the picture on the link on hellview's post. Try telling me that hasn't been cut... If you dont believe me get an old shoe lace and cut it in half with scissors - same effect - nice clean split - no fraying at all... Not sure if I believe all this. Also the string and the bit holding the string broke? Thats not possible the kinetic force would break one or the other. Think about it.
