oh and i also heard someone mention price matching an offer from myers... so i mentioned it to the guy when i handed in my preorder receipt thing and so he gave me GT for free $90 value apparently... though they arent in stock till next week so i'll go in then to pick it up

Back. Was number 8 in my line. Was a REALLY slow and boring night. But every time I touched one of my Wii parts, I got excited. Finally, 12:40, I get home, and I've set it all up. Already made a Mii, and doing an update now. It's not going fast, but it's not going slow either. ARRGGHHH, must go play Wii sports. I'll be up all day / night anyway.

I'll let you guys know how everything is in a few hours. Once I've tried stuff. Awesome awesome awesome.

Update: Welp, I'm an idiot. In my haste, I decided it would be a good idea to update the Wii. Well, bad idea. I now have to wait hours for the update to finish, before I can return to playing. Just a note to the Aussies. Don't do it. It just isn't worth it. Just leave it for a few days, and then update it.

I hope none of you have had the same bad luck as I have.

Update Update: Ok, so I got annoyed and turned it off and back on again. At first I thought it was being evil, trying to auto-update straight away. But this time it worked. Hazaa. If you have started the update, and it's frozen, just turn the Wii off and back on again (Hold the power button), over and over until it works.

Off I go to try out all of my games.

Hey deity here sorry i couldn't post last night when i got back but i was so tired i'd been up since about 5 yesterday morning so I'l post it now ZOMOG I GOT TEH WII!!!! I don't know if it pawns yet though cause I can't hook up till tonight.

I got there about 10:30 thourght i was 7th in line but some of the people at the front where just with their mates so I was actually 5th woooo, waited till about 11:30 when some guys came out and told us how some games would'nt be avaliable so yeh

Then at about 12:05 they let in five people at a time to get their wii and accesorries and I got in about 20 past ,got my wii and I got like 3 pages of discount coupouns for wii stuff for coming to the midnight launch and that's my story I still tired but all in all it was a fun night

Yeah they said that at TRU last night - the offer games weren't available at launch.

In my case we didn't line up till like 10mins before the Wii was released for sale.


---WII RECORD---

10:30 I got there and played mario kart DS against 7 other people.. Good fun!
Chatted to some people there about the Wii and what games they have on their DS. Got to know some people. My dad came up to make sure I was okay and waited downstairs with a book to read.

11:00 More chatting and waiting... Looked at the JB Hi Fi catalog and talked to people about the price matching. Apparently I found out that I couldn't price match until the store was open. Which meant I'd have to wait till tomorrow morning to price match. Too much of an inconvenience.

11:30 More people came. About 40 people were there. Some reading books, others still playing on their DS. People often came in twos, either with a friend or relative. Others were already nodding off XD.

Chatted to this girl about just everything to do with computer games and the Wii and uni etc.

11:45 We were let in TRU! Finally! W00T! People went to the games section and got just about any other stuff before lining up at the counter to the back of the room. Got myself a wiimote and classic controller. Some guy got hold of 5 nunchucks and 5 wiimotes so I couldn't get an extra nunchuck.

Still chatted to the girl non stop.

12:00 The Wii was sold to the first person in line. I was in the middle of the line and was watching the first group of people get their Wiis. Talk about excitement.

12:30 Non stop chatting to the girl. It made time pass more quickly... Talked about more stuff... We were so close to getting hold of a Wii! She was just about as excited as I was!

12:36 I let the girl get the Wii before I did and she left the store in satisfaction.

12:37 Finally got my Wii after all these months of chatting on Wiichat and other forums! FINALLY!!! YES!! Thank you god!

12:40 Went down to EB to get a nunchuk. They had one there... Good! Got hold of it and went back to the car with my dad, who was waiting all that time.

12:45 Got to car and drove home.

1:10 Finally got home and got the Wii out of the bag along with the other stuff that I brought there. Took a picture - will load it up soon.

1:30 Dad told me to go to bed - I was going to play it all night

6:30 Woke up and finally unpacked the Wii box, set it up and connected the power cord to the Wii.

7:00 Finally made my Mii and played a bit of Zelda for a while. Mum came in to have a look - she's pretty anti gaming tho.

7:30 Had breakfast and explained to my parents the Wii sports and Zelda. Talked about the Mii function. Mum was interested in the Mii. Will let her have a try later on.

Flip, i don't what connection you are using, but mine updated twice in less than 2 mins each time.

Hassle free for me, smooth sailing. Wii Sports is great, baseball is very frustrating... the other games are spot on, golf and bowling being my fave's.

Having a rest at the moment, Red Steel to come.

ok, so something i didnt know before... i need to go wireless for the Wii :'(

so i need to get a USB wifi thingie for my wii and also a wireless router?? i am clueless when it comes to wireless... can i just get some wireless USB connection for my computer instead? whats the cheapest option to get online with a Wii?
