what size do you think i should get. I really have no idea how much space an average game should take up since i cant open my wii up until christmas.

8 GB. . .it'll last a long time.
an 8 gb one won't work! the wii doesn't support sdhc, those are the ones that are bigger than 2 gbs, or are labeled SDHC
Spoiler Alert!

Well, when I had a GCN (I still don't have a Wii by the way) I bought a 16mb memory card and that held all the games that I ever bought. But with the virtual console games being down loadable, and other things I would say a 1gb or maybe 2gb card. But that's just what I am probably going to do.

That turtle has a brief case. It must be going to work. I hope it has a good day.

sorry for hijacking this thread, but now i'm wondering... how much onboard memory is there on the wii? and on each wiimote?
Each Wii has a 512mb internal memory
From what I understand the wiimotes just have enough to put a few Miis on, possibly a game save but I have only ever heard of a mii on it.
Then for the original board poster,
Go with a 1gb if you are ging to buy one, jsut because they ar available for about $15 on sale near the holidays and get as low as $10.

The wii-mote has 8kb of space, which is almost nothing, I'm surprised a mii can fit on it, I doubt game saves can fit on it.

Well on computers for example save files are not very big at all, they are usually 2-5 MB I believe, sometimes even smaller. I would say 1GB is decent.
However, some brands of SD seems to work and some don't. No I'm not saying you need Nintendo labeled SD (although you're guaranteed it will work) any will do. Just read around for reviews. If anyone here has an SD card that actually works, tell us what brand you have.
i havent seen a 1gb that cheap. what places are selling them for 15 bucks?Originally Posted by Chunk
