After two remakes in a row, a brand new Fire Emblem makes its appearance on the Nintendo 3DS. Said by its developers to be a "greatest hits" of past Fire Emblem ideas, Awakening borrows many popular gameplay elements from previous titles, such as special skills, a traversable world map and marriage. Also, despite being a handheld title, the game's production values are through the roof, with wonderfully crafted 3D graphics and CGI videos, as well as tons of game content, including downloadable content.

In typical Fire Emblem fashion, Awakening starts a new story, this time spanning two continents--Iris and Varm. Eagle-eyed fans may notice elements and even returning characters from previous titles, such as Marth and Tiki. At the time of writing, it seems like Awakening takes place in the same world as Shadow Dragon, Gaiden and Mystery of the Emblem, but many centuries later. Since so much has changed and with the connections to previous titles being vague at best, don't fret if you haven't played any of the aforementioned titles!

So with this huge budget they are throwing everything from voice acting to Spotpass in this game and they are bringing everything from the past games to the table. This probably will be the best Fire Emblem Game.

All the good things ya can have on console games brought to a handheld version. 3DS ftw. I sincerely hope the game gets all the attention it deserves and then some so that huge budget pays off in huge profit.

Yeah in the DLCs there is going to be a whole lot of characters from the past.
I don't how it's going to happen but you can be expecting Roy, Ephraim, Micaiah, Marth, Lyn, Ike and a whole lot more.

Well you should check out the skills classes can get

And reclassing changed a whole lot. Now you need tokens to reclass sorta like a master seal and can only be used when the character is level 10 or over unles he is already promoted. But when you reclass your level is brought down to 1. Each class starts with a skill then at level 15 they get another one. When they reclass they keep the skills too. On top of that, because the releveling aspect of reclassing they raised the max stat ceiling by 20 points. So now a berserker can have 50 Strength instead of the 30 he had in the other games.

And they nerfed forging a tad. They made it so you can only have a certain amount of upgrades per weapon, so no maxing all stats.

That's the one thing I did research, new game mechanics... Not that I remember most of what I read all those months ago. What I do remember however, is that the changes I read 'bout made me giddy.

The strategist in me gets wet thinkin' of how utterly destructive characters can get with the fact ya can keep changing classes for both endless leveling up and collecting skills en mass.

My favorite "new" classes is the Assassin and the Dark Pegasus.
The Assassin comes with a bow now and with the skills Lethality (Chance to 1hko) and Pass (able to pass through enemies) it becomes a force of nature. And if you leveled him up as a trickster too you get Acrobatics (All terrain costs 1 movement point to cross) and if you leveled him as a Swordsmaster you get Astra (chance to get 5 consecutive hits to the enemy with half damage). With a forged brave bow things will die.

Dark Pegasus is a flying tome user. Nuff said.
