As an American, I personally feel that World War II was a time period where good and bad was clearly split. We know who was good and who was bad, looking back noone would disagree. And it was a war, it had lots of action (great game setting), fought on different areas (pearl harbor, normandy, etc.), and was just plain that the Nazis were evil. You can't find anything that has good and bad so clearly defined like WWII. Can you say the same about Indians vs. Europeans? Iriquois vs. Americans? Aztecs vs. Spanish? But there are some decent things like the Gulf War and such but nothing that effected the world as much as WWII.
